People who understand office politics are terrifying. I struggle to tell what anyone is getting at and have no idea why anything is happening and just try to do my job well and not get yelled at. That is literally all I can manage. I have this coworker who keeps asking "why did they schedule me like this and you like that?" I don't know. It's making me want to cry.

My first job in software was QA. I was 19, I was paid $2.50 over minimum wage (yay!) and told “find bugs and problems in this software” and I did. I found lots of them.

My second job in software, I was called out for “disrespect” and “insubordination” for submitting a bug report on code that was written by the boss. It hadn’t occurred to me to check the git blame before submitting the report.

I fucking hate it.
