德语里有个概念叫做Rattenkönig（英语里叫rat king, 法语里叫roi des rats），“鼠王”——指几只鼠的尾巴打成死结不能解开，只能如此共生下去的状态，通常这种鼠活不了多久就会死掉，因为个体被迫这样纠缠很影响生活质量，如果其中出现死者的话，剩下的生者压力就会更大，因为不得不拖着尸体活下去。
这个词有时候也被用来形容不良共生的家庭关系或者社会结构，其中的比喻意味不言自明。
